PARCELS

Parcel – a type of a postal item that may contain any item (goods) provided that sending/receiving it does not conflict with the legislation of legislation, the acts of Universal Post Union and the rules established by the recipient country or by Georgian Post.

Georgian Post LLC provides sending/receiving and delivery of the following types of postal items:

Local Parcel - The type of a parcel sending and delivery of which is ensured by Georgian Post within Georgia.

AVIA Package - the type of a parcel sent by Georgian Post to another country via air mail and received to Georgia from Postal Administrations of other countries through the same way to be delivered by Georgian Post to the addressee being in Georgia.

Overland Parcel – a parcel which is sent via overland routes by Georgian Post to certain countries only and similarly, received only from specified countries through the same way and delivered by Georgian Post to the addressee being in Georgia.

Overland parcel is sent to the following countries:

  • Greece
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • France
  • German
  • Switzerland
  • Poland
  • Austria
  • Czech Republic
  • Belgium
  • Armenia

Overland parcel is received from the following countries: 

  • Turkey;
  • Greece;
  • Italy;
  • Russia

Time terms for delivering local parcels and those coming into the country to the addressee:

  • D+3 –

With the exclusion of the postal items received at / to be delivered to the special administrative units;

  • D+5 – for

For the postal items received at / to be delivered to the special administrative units;

         NOTE:

· means the day of receiving a postal item by Georgian Post to which the number of the working days as indicated are added.

 

· Special Administrative Units are - Mestia (3200), Stepantsminda (4700), Dusheti (1800), Tianeti (2500), Tsageri (5100), Lentekhi (2900) Administrative units.

  General Rules for Delivering Parcels within Georgia

If a parcel contains information about a mobile number of the addressee, after the parcel is received by Georgian Post an SMS notification is sent to the addressee.

    NOTE: Postal items that were not delivered to the addressee are returned after the expiration of 30 days upon their receipt by Georgian Post. The client is given the possibility to extend the mentioned term through addressing Georgian Post with a relevant application concerning the same.
